Start the holidays and new year on a positive note. Pick up an inspirational book from the Enchanted Fairy.
My first suggestion is "Why Is God Laughing? The Path To Joy and Spiritual Optimism" by New York Times Bestselling Author, Deepak Chopra. I've always said happiness must come from within. Deepak Chopra illustrates this theory with a story about Mickey Fellows, a comedian facing the fears in his life. You will enjoy this quick read and come away with insights into having a more joy and optimism in your life.
"The Age of Miracles" by Marianne Williamson, internationally acclaimed lecturer and best-selling author, is my second suggestion for an inspiration read during the holidays as you contemplate your new year's resolutions. This book is about "Embracing the New Midlife'". Marianne tells us to see midlife not as a crisis but as a time of rebirth. "It's not a time to accept your death; it's a time to accept your life -- and to finally, truly live it, as you and you alone know deep in your heart it was meant to be lived." from the book jacket to "The Age of Miracles".
My third suggestion is "Ten Poems to Open Your Heart" by Roger Housden. The book jacket tells us this "is a book devoted to love: to the intimacy of personal love and lovemaking, to a loving compassion for others, and to the love that embraces both this world and the next". In his introduction Housden tells us "Great poetry happens when the mind is looking the other way and words fall from the sky to shape a moment that would normally be untranslatable... When the heart opens, we forget ourselves and the world pours in: this world, and also the invisible world of meaning that sustains everything that was and ever shall be." If you love great poetry and want your heart to open, even just a little, read this book and meditate. What a great way to start the New Year!
